I have to agree. This was was of the best shows I've ever seen from any band. The crowd erupted when they came on for their 4th encore and it was The Bends of all songs! I remember a group of kids running around with t-shirt jerseys, the track numbers for each song of The Bends on the back with the name of the song. It indeed was a magical night, the first and last image of the WTC I have burned into my retinas before the TV set oversaturated my idea of this amazing landscape. I remember when Thom messed up Like Spinning Plates and had to start over. Kid Koala was amazing during The National Anthem. This show will remain one of my favorites for my entire life.

It was just about a month before the 9/11 attacks, and to see the statue of liberty to the right, and the twin towers to the left.It was an amazing evening. The closest I felt to trippin without taking acid. It was my last great memory of the WTC. And to think that less than a month later I would working on a 20 story high pile of rubble. That was the furthest thing from my mind that night at that great show.

just wanted to say that this is the best concert i've ever been to in my life. the boys came out and mixed it up with kid koala during 'national anthem' and as they played, you could see the moon rising from the mouth of brooklyn, forming an arc over the statue of liberty. when you looked left, the entirety of the manhattan skyline throbbed in its enormity. that night was the end of the innocent summer. as thom wailed the third (!!!) encore "And this just feels like spinning plates/Our bodies floating down the muddy river," he was by himself up there and so were all of us.
